Meet Our Founder-Director
Shilpa, an international award-winning filmmaker, runs The Knot in Frames. An alumni of London Film Academy she has lived, worked and shot films in London, Türkiye and Iceland. She set up The Knot in Frames in 2013.
Wedding Cinema
Shilpa believes that the best moments to capture for screen are moments when the camera becomes invisible. How does one capture such an ephemeral thing like emotions? It is in the nuances. In a look, a touch, a brush, a tear, a smile. In real life emotions aren’t these grand ostentatious things. And what she endeavours to capture is the subtle changes that mark the grandest of events.
A wedding is you marrying the person who is the love of your life. It is a day that you have spent months if not years preparing for. The last thing you need is any disruptions in your experience of your day. Shilpa believes that capturing your day as it unfolds for you the couple and your families and friends makes it authentic, timeless and a precious thing that you pass on to the next generation.
The films that she makes transcends the boundaries of time. Something that generations down the line will get to watch and experience for themselves the day that brought them into being.
